With music made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, this revue starring Summer Cabaret favorite Carole J. Bufford explores the evolution of popular music from The Roaring Twenties to The Soaring Eighties. Featuring hits like “St. Louis Blues,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Sway,” and “A Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.”

Vintage POP!, created by Carole J. Bufford with arrangements by Carole J. Bufford and Ian Herman, will play from March 24-May 23, 2021 in FST's Keating Theatre. Single tickets are available online by clicking the button above or by calling the FST Box Office at 941.366.9000.

Carole J Bufford HeadshotCAROLE J. BUFFORD A recipient of the Nightlife, Bistro, and BroadwayWorld Awards for Outstanding Vocalist, Carole has become one of the most sought after young performers on the American vintage pop, jazz, and cabaret scenes. She recently enjoyed a highly praised 10 month solo run at New York’s Birdland Jazz Club and a monthly residency at Feinstein’s/54 Below. Carole is the Creator and star of multiple shows, including speak easy. (featuring the Grammy Award-winning Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks), Come Together, and You Don’t Own Me, which earned her rave reviews from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Times (UK). Carole is the Gold Medal winner of the American Traditions Vocal Competition.

Isaac MingusIsaac Mingus is a double bassist, cellist, and electric bassist based in Sarasota, Florida. He studies neuropsychology at the New College of Florida and is expecting to graduate in May 2022. As an educator and a performer, Isaac has performed, taught, and conducted ensembles in a variety of venues for jazz, classical, rock, and other genres. He presently serves as the interim music director for the Siesta Key Chapel.

Jim ProsserJIM PROSSER (Piano): This upcoming Winter Season marks Jim’s 26th season as FST's resident pianist, where he most recently appeared in Light My Fire, That’s Amoré! and the Summer Mainstage show Ethel Waters: His Eye is on the Sparrow. He has arranged and co-developed over 50 Cabarets including: Light My Fire, Outlaws and Angels, That’s Amoré!, The Wonder Years, Guitar Girls, Unchained Melodies, Mack the Knife, Blue Suede Shoes, Dancing In The Street, By Gershwin, European Cabaret, That’s Life Again, British Invasion, Too Darn Hot, and Older Than Dirt. He has served as Composer/Music Director for FST’s Education department, writing numerous scores for children’s shows such as Deck the Halls, Androcles and the Lion, RAP-Punzel, The Velveteen Rabbit, and WRITE A PLAY Elementary Tours. Jim is also a Music Director for FST Improv, for which he has played many shows including the improvised musical, When X Meets Y.
