The Lehman Trilogy Forum Discussion

The Wealth of Our Nation

March 7th, 2024 | 5:00-6:00PM

Join us for a captivating forum discussion inspired by the thought-provoking play, The Lehman Trilogy.

The Lehman Brothers played an important role in helping the South finance the Civil War, survived the conflict, and eventually became a financial giant. It can be argued that slavery was the foundation of the nation’s economy from the 1700s through the end of slavery in the late 1800s. What was the impact of slavery during the time of the Lehman Brothers, and what impact did it have on the nation’s economy? What is the lingering impact today?
