Three Vocalists. Four Decades of Music. 100% Diva.

June 23, 2023

Artist Nancy Allen had over two decades of professional theatre experience, including playing Cosette in the Broadway National Tour of Les Misérables for three years. But in 2013, when she looked across the Cabaret landscape, she saw something was missing. Something and an entire group of voices.

“I saw a lack of really good female groups in the market,” explained Allen. “And so, I decided I was going to create one.”

Her vision: To create an act that blended a little bit of Broadway, a hint of Las Vegas, and a dash of pop, while always keeping the show tasteful and classy. And what could be more tasteful and classy than the iconic diva?

"A true 'Diva' is hard to define," said Line Producer Catherine Randazzo. "Each is so distinct and makes her own unique mark on the music industry. But the one thing all Divas have in common is sheer vocal power. When artists like Cher, Whitney Houston, or Celine Dion have taken to the stage, audiences have been completely captivated by the first note.”

But to truly take on the role of "Diva" is no small feat. Allen knew her artists would have to have more than just the pipes.

“I work really hard at finding artists who have that special quality in their portrayal of the music that commands the stage and makes you want to watch and listen,” explained Allen. “Many times, I’ve found that particular quality comes from life experience and having a personality that shines through onstage.”

Three larger-than-life personalities bring Divas Three, an original music revue to life on FST's Court Cabaret stage: artists Crystal Alicia Garrett, Samantha Duval, and Charity Farrell. Together, this trio's resume includes Off-Broadway and Regional Theatre credits, as well as work in film, and television. Beyond their professional accomplishments, these women all bring to the stage dynamic harmonies, sophisticated style, classy choreography, and earth-quaking vocals.

It's those powerhouse vocals that will bring to life such songs as “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “I Will Always Love You,” “It’s Raining Men,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” and many more. But this is certainly no karaoke show. Divas Three features its own original musical arrangements to these iconic songs, allowing audiences to experience this music in an artistically new way. For example, you'll hear several songs made famous by solo artists that have been re-shaped and re-imagined to be carried by three-part harmony.

The result is a fan-favorite production. Since Divas Three began touring in 2013, audiences have praised the show, calling it “Absolutely fabulous,” “Wonderful,” and “The best show we’ve ever seen."

“Everybody loves and knows a great diva power ballad or hit song,” continued Randazzo. “If you’re a fan of Cher, Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Aretha Franklin, or the late Tina Turner, you will love Divas Three. These stellar vocalists will dazzle you with their style and sound, and their song list packs more than two dozen of the best hits from these celebrated divas into just two acts.”

And don't worry, gentlemen. Divas Three isn’t just for the ladies.

“The show truly appeals to all age groups, as well as both men and women,” said Allen. “It really is a celebration of so many different singers. There is something for everyone!”
