The Tenors Return!

October 21, 2022

Five years after their first appearance at FST, The Jersey Tenors are back with a new show celebrating artists from the stage to the screen. Called “Top-flight male vocalists” by The Observer, The Jersey Tenors have toured around the world, entertaining audiences with their one-of-a-kind renditions of Rock & Roll hits mashed up with opera classics.

“It took us time to find our unique sound,” said Brian Noonan, Founder of The Jersey Tenors. “But after rehearsing and performing a lot, we discovered that this half Rock & Roll/half opera mashup created a rich sound that garnered a great response from audiences.”

The Jersey Tenors: Part II still includes the group’s distinct sound, but this time around, they will deliver dynamic arrangements of songs like “Eye of the Tiger,” “One Day More” from Les Misérables, “That’s Life,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry” from Jersey Boys.

“We love having The Jersey Tenors here because they are upbeat, funny, and amazing singers, in addition to being crowd-pleasing showmen,” said Catherine Randazzo, an FST Associate Artist who provides artistic oversight for Summer Cabaret acts. “The Jersey Tenors are back with the dramatic singing that first wowed our audiences five years ago, but this summer, they will be blending brand-new material in with their iconic song choices.”

Since the group first came together in 2014, they have performed at The Pentagon, Yankee Stadium, the Formula One Grand Prix in Singapore, and for President George W. Bush. They’ve also been the opening act for Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, and Chubby Checker.

“Our first Jersey Tenors revue was originally conceived as a ‘Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ show, but after so many requests to return to venues we’d already played, we decided to expand our repertoire,” said Noonan. “As the show’s popularity grew to reach a larger audience, we decided to include more musical styles so that we could meet the needs and interests of our audiences.”

In their newest Cabaret, the suave musical quartet will bring pop hits, R&B classics, love songs, and disco favorites to life.

“We love to surprise audiences,” added Noonan. “We want people to know that we’re not just some limited act that does one particular genre of music. Our goal is to make each show distinct—whether it is with our unique musical arrangements or the wide array of musical styles we perform.”

Whether they’re performing at a swanky hotel in Dubai (which they’ve done) or in an intimate Cabaret theatre, The Jersey Tenors never forget where they came from.

“We always salute the iconic artists from The Garden State,” said Noonan. “Who hasn’t heard of these guys? Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!”

Bringing some of the greatest songs of all time to life onstage are four artists—all of whom have a host of Broadway, national touring, and regional theatre credits on their resume.

“We let the attendees know from the start that this performance is a collaboration between us and the audience,” said Noonan. “And that conversation elevates this show to a new, exciting level. While some might be apprehensive at the start to engage with us, we continue to drive that interaction and when they get it…the show becomes just exhilarating!”

The Jersey Tenors: Part II played in FST’s Goldstein Cabaret through September 18, 2022.
