This spring, FST Improv brings back two shows you know and love, featuring new performers, new audience suggestions, and new laughs.
Just in time for April Fools Day is Tournament of Fools, an annual, one-night-only, knockdown, drag-out, comedy battle royale!
Twelve improvisers will compete in a series of improv scenes, songs, and games to win your laughter, your applause, and the coveted title of “Champion of Fools!” By the end of the night on Saturday, April 1, only one improviser will be left standing.
“Tournament of Fools is competitive, fast-paced, and very fun,” said cast member Valerie Dale. “It definitely keeps you on your toes as a performer. One minute, a fellow improviser is your competitor and the next, they’re your teammate.”
Up next is Comedy Roulette, where anything goes. Instead of following a specific format, Comedy Roulette removes all the rules and challenges cast members to “follow the funny.”
That means this team of artists can start a new scene or storyline…whenever the inspiration strikes.
“Unlike many of our shows, which have at least some sort of framework or theme, this show has absolutely no prescribed road map,” said Director of Improvisation Will Luera. “The cast makes the show up entirely on the spot with the audience’s help and feedback.”
Comedy Roulette begins playing Saturdays in FST’s Bowne’s Lab on April 8.
