In this contemporary mystery set within the confines of a convent, Agnes, a young nun, is accused of murdering her own baby. A court-appointed psychiatrist is asked to determine her sanity, and the Mother Superior is bent on protecting Sister Agnes from the doctor. In searching for solutions to various mysteries – Who killed the baby? Who fathered the child? – all three women face some harsh realities in their own lives.
