A musical tribute to one of the greatest song-writers of the 20th Century.
Harold Arlen may well be the most famous composer whose name you don't recognize. In addition to writing the songs for The Wizard of Oz, Arlen penned some of the most beloved songs of the early 1930's and 40's, capturing the essence of a classic generation. Featuring the songs 'Paper Moon,' 'Stormy Weather' and 'Over the Rainbow'.

SOPHIA HINSHELWOOD is elated to be a part of this wonderful production. A graduate of Northwestern University, favorite Chicago credits
include I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Woman #1), Sunday in the Park with George (Nurse/Elaine), Being Beautiful (Jena’/Young Berniece), Bronzeville (Georgia), and Ain’t Misbehavin (role originated by Nell Carter). This Miami native has also appeared in numerous commercials and is ecstatic to be back in the Florida sunshine! Proud Equity Member.
JOEL NEWSOME was last seen on Broadway in the Mel Brooks hit, The Producers. He also toured with the National Company of The Producers where he performed the role of Leo Bloom. Other Broadway shows include the Tony Award winning Revival of 42nd Street. Off Broadway: Kuni-Lem; (Jewish Repertory Theatre). Other tours include, Kander & Ebb’s Steel Pier (Buddy Becker) and a European concert tour of Leonard
Bernstein’s Music. Regional: Caldwell Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, Paper Mill Playhouse, North Carolina Theatre. Joel is a Graduate of Cincinnati’s Conservatory of Music.
KIM REED is thrilled to be at FST. Earlier this year, she performed on Florida’s west coast as Grizabella in Cats at the Broadway Palm in Ft. Myers. Most recently, she sang the music of Sinatra in My Way at Shadowland Theatre. Favorite credits include Grand Hotel (Flaemmchen), Pump Boys & Dinettes (Prudie), I Love You, You’re Perfect...(Woman 1), Crazy for You (Polly), Singin’ in the Rain (Kathy Seldon) and Noises Off (Brooke/Vicki).
JIM WEAVER returns to FST after appearing in Ain’t Nothin’ but The Blues. Other credits: Broadway: Marie Christine, Don’t Call Back. Off-Broadway: Anything Cole, Mahalia, Radio City, Attendin’ Skeletons. Regional: West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Anna In The Tropics, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Three Penny Opera, Children of Eden, Five Guys Named Moe. European tours, TV appearances, Cast Recordings and Cabaret Shows. Jim also works as a Director and Choreographer.
