Winning plays by young playwrightsPlay titles such as; "Rebecca's Sunday Secret," "Frenchie," "Tuna Trouble" and "Ernie's Day at the Beach" represent the imagination and creativity of students who have submitted plays to Florida Studio Theatre’s Young Playwrights Festival, the culmination of the award-winning WRITE A PLAY Program.
Each day these plays are performed, by actors in a professional setting for students in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Tickets are also available to the general public.

RACHEL COLLINS is a Cincinnati, Ohio native who recently received her BFA in Theater Performance from Ohio University through their Honors Tutorial College. Favorite university credits include: The Magnificent Masked Hearing Aid (Tess- World Premiere), Happy Days (Winnie), and Man Equals Man (Mr. Wang/Ensemble). She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support in this and every endeavor.
CINDY DE LA CRUZ is a graduate of the "fame" school in New York City as a drama major. Most recently she worked with Elizabeth Swados in the original musical Sosua: Dare to Dance. Other credits include Solid Ground (mass transit theater company) including a documentary of the process and various commericals and promos. Her favorite roles have been Rosannah in Brilliant Traces and Billy in Solid Ground.
PATRICK JACKSON, better known as “Pat Jak” is an actor, playwright and spoken word artist from Richmond, VA. In 2011, Patrick earned his BA in Drama from Morehouse College, in Atlanta, GA where he also joined the brotherhood of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc. After graduating from Morehouse, Patrick remained in the Atlanta area performing the role of ”Congressman” in the world premiere of Tea Party at The Ansley Park Playhouse and guest starring in the new hit web series, Between Women. Earlier this summer, Patrick had the opportunity to join the Florida Studio Theatre family as an education intern with FST Summer Camps. He is excited to begin his new journey as an acting apprentice at Florida Studio Theatre!
SETH TEEGARDEN Seth joins FST after working on the Off-Broadway production of Silence! The Musical (Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor). Graduated from Columbia State Community College. Some of his favorite roles have included: The Wiz in The Wiz, Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Judas in Godspell.
SARAH YOUNG is originally from Columbus, Ohio. She recently graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., where she studied Theatre Performance, Psychology, and Law. Past credits include: a regional tour with Equalogy, a company dedicated to producing theatre for social change, Three Sisters, Romeo and Juliet, Titus Andronicus, Prometheus Bound, Cameras, See Something/Say Something, and Wiseacre Farm (TYA). She is beyond excited to spend her first winter in twenty-three years without a heavy coat!
