Sketch Comedy Writing 101-301
Our three-level sketch comedy writing program, modeled after The Second City style of sketch comedy writing, is designed to help students develop their funny idea into a fully-produced sketch. Students begin by learning brainstorming exercises, pitching ideas, and creating a first draft. Then, in level two, we’ll begin to explore different styles of sketch comedy and how to incorporate these styles into our work. In level three, students will write, edit, cast, and perform their own sketch comedy revue. Throughout the program, students will have opportunities to perform their work in front of a live audience as part of Mixed Nuts, a student performance.
