HYBRID CLASS

Building on the fundamentals, this class dives deeper into the structure, pacing, and punchlines that make sketches shine. Through hands-on exercises and group collaboration, you’ll refine your comedic voice while mastering more complex forms like satire and genre parodies. Whether you’re polishing an SNL-style piece or crafting your own original creations, 301 will give you the tools to write sketches that slay! Open to students with previous sketch writing experience. Ready to bring the laughs?


Prerequisite: Sketch Comedy Writing 201 or equivalent experience.

Beginning Improv for Everyone

This fun and fast-paced class will teach students to think quickly on their feet, explore creativity, hone their comedic voices, and build self-confidence.

Improv 401: Intro to Long-Form

Develop and refine your ability to work in an ensemble. Supported by your FST Teaching Artist, students will put together their own show highlighting skills learned in the first three levels.

Musical Improv 301

Inspired by one single prompt, students will create a montage of scenes varying in musical genre and storylines, tied together by theme.

Improv 301: The Game of the Scene

Designed for the intermediate improviser, in Improv 301 we will move beyond Short-Form games and learn how to create strong open-scene work.

Improv 501: Narrative Long-Form

Building off Level 401, students will evolve from game-based play to narrative play.

Musical Improv 401

Building on the skills we learned in Musical Improv 301, students will dive into Narrative Musical Long-Form in level four.

Improv 601: Free-Form

Discover Free-Form Improv, built on the concept of "follow the funny," which proposes that every single moment, beat, line and movement in a show can be deconstructed and used to lead you to the next scene.
