LIGHTING SUPERVISOR/RESIDENT LIGHTING DESIGNER
- Supervise the training and work of the Lighting Intern who functions as the master electrician
- With the assistance of the Lighting Intern maintain all lighting equipment
- With the assistance of the Lighting Intern track and maintain the lighting inventory
- With the assistance of the Lighting Intern maintain and clean, organized and safe work/storage area
- Supervise all over hire crews for load-ins and strikes
- Design lights for Mainstage, Stage III and Cabaret productions as assigned
- Oversee the design work of the Lighting Intern on the smaller projects.
- Work along any guest Lighting Designers that may be hired by the theatre.
RECEPTIONIST
- Answering & Directing Incoming Calls, forwarding any messages to proper departments
- Coordinating FST’s volunteers, serving as their main contact and scheduling them as necessary
- Sorting & Distributing packages delivered to theatre, ensuring timely delivery to recipients
- Providing general administrative support to various departments
COMPANY MANAGER
Start Date: May 2021
Florida Studio Theatre, a fast-paced and dynamic professional LORT D regional theatre, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Company Manager. FST is Sarasota’s contemporary theatre, comprised of a village of five theatres located in the heart of Downtown, Sarasota.
Responsibilities:
- Handle housing, transportation and hospitality for all guest artists from the point of hiring through departure.
- Arrange & book travel, provide itineraries, prepare housing, facilitate airport pickups.
- Serve as FST’s Ambassador to all guests including casts, design teams, the intern company and others.
- Maintain company vehicles.
- Manage and maintain inventory of housing/hospitality items.
- Execute biweekly walk-thrus of all housing.
- Ability to work independently & exercise decision making skills.
- Supervision of CM Intern.
- Opening night parties.
- Serve as the contact point between renters/guest artists and the Facilities team.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with management of our 20+ residences.
- Oversee budgets and Purchase Orders.
The Right candidate will have a high degree of responsibility, be focused, achievement oriented, able to communicate clearly, detailed and organized. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Company Manager reports directly to the General Manager.
This position often involves night and weekend work, as well as being on call.
ASSISTANT BOX OFFICE MANAGER
Start Date: May 2021
Florida Studio Theatre, a professional LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL is seeking an Assistant Box Office Manager for its 5-theatre complex.
Duties include, but are not limited to: ticket sales; communication and enforcement of ticketing policies; daily analysis of ticket sales; constant communication with other departments; opening and closing the box office; creating and managing holds; reconciling box office receipts; hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of box office staff.
The right candidate must have excellent communication skills, a positive and outgoing personality and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be prompt, reliable, and detail oriented and have excellent computer skills. Must be available to work days, evening, and/or weekends. Three to five years Box Office experience required. Minimum of two years management experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of the Tessitura system is preferred. Must be able to work well independently and to manage, train, and motivate others.
This position does require night and weekend work.
DIGITAL MARKETING ASSOCIATE
Start Date: May-June 2021
The Digital Marketing Associate is responsible for all areas of digital marketing including but not limited to: tracking success of digital campaigns via Google Analytics; creating and overseeing Google ad campaigns; social media; maintaining floridastudiotheatre.org, creating promotional eblasts; and creating promotional videos.
Responsibilities include:
- Tracking success of digital campaigns using Google Analytics
-Using such tools as URL builder, audience reports, and conversion tracking, measure and evaluate success of campaigns and ad placements. - Creates and oversees Google ad campaigns
-Responsible for creating and evaluating Google Display and Adwords advertising and YouTube bumper ads - Manages all social media platforms
-Develops social media plans and content, schedules posts, manages social media paid advertising, tracks analytics, and keeps up-to-date with ever-evolving industry best practices
-Directly responsible for: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Hootsuite, LinkedIn - Maintains front end of floridastudiotheatre.org
- Organizational sales-related eblasts
-Responsible for creating, pulling lists for, deploying, and evaluating success for all sales related organizational eblasts - Creates promotional videos
-Edits short promotional videos as well as TV commercials
-Coordinates and films archival video shoots for all shows - Tracks Digital Audience Metrics
-Regularly tracking and reporting out to Director of Marketing on digital analytics for floridastudiotheatre.org, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, company eblasts, and Google Grant account - Maintains front end of floridastudiotheatre.org
-Updates images, and keeps information up to date.
Required skills:
Experience in Digital Marketing; knowledge of Google Display and Adwords advertising, Proficiency in Google Analytics, Understanding of social media platforms and genuine interest and enthusiasm for new digital apps, platforms, and opportunities; Technical savvy; Experience in video recording and editing; Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop; Mind for numbers and interpreting analytics and key metrics; Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
LEAD CARPENTER
Start Date: August-September 2021
Florida Studio Theatre, a fast-paced and dynamic professional LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL, is seeking a Lead Carpenter for a 5-theatre operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong management skills; have a strong understanding of standard scenic construction and rigging; a solid knowledge of standard theatre terms and operations; ability to work from AutoCad Drawings; strong oral communication and listening skills; ability to multi-task and maintain flexibility; must be able to lift 75-100 lbs; prefer experience working with intern staff of varied skill levels. A collaborative attitude is necessary
Specific responsibilities include:
- Maintain a safe and organized shop at all times
- Build and Install the majority of scenic elements for each theatrical production
- Work with TD to manage build schedules
- Manage working elements of the scene shop including, but not limited to, tool maintenance, consumables inventory, and general organizational of work and storage spaces
- Additional responsibilities a may become necessary
COSTUME SHOP ASSISTANT
Start Date: August-September 2021
Florida Studio Theatre, a fast-paced and dynamic professional LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL, is seeking an assistant costume studio manager for a five-theatre operation.
Responsibilities include: overseeing wardrobe and maintenance, stitching, costume construction, assist with tracking purchases, and work with designer on shopping and buying for the season. Strong organizational skills and a positive, upbeat attitude are also required.
FST produces seven mainstage shows, three cabaret shows, a Stage III Series, five children’s shows and many new play workshops annually.

PROPERTIES AND PAINT SUPERVISOR

Florida Studio Theatre, a fast-paced and dynamic professional LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL, is seeking a Prop and Paint Supervisor for a 5-theatre operation.
The Prop and Paint Supervisor is responsible for oversight and execution of props (research, buying, and building), oversight and execution of scenic painting from start to finish, maintenance of the painting area and equipment, maintenance of the prop areas and equipment; supervision of the props and painting interns, volunteers and over hire staff.
