Florida Studio Theatre, a dynamic professional LORT D regional theatre, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Production Manager.

Reporting to the Producing Artistic Director, this role is responsible for the oversight and management of the entire Production department. Additionally, the Production Manager works alongside the Producing Artistic Director to enhance collaboration between artistic and production individuals.

The Production Manager will be responsible for the oversight of all production staff (currently 15 total) and production departments, oversight of the design and production processes of the theatre, create schedules for upcoming seasons, create and manage budgets for the production department, and ensure the safe and orderly operations of the entire department.

The ideal candidate is highly organized with ability to schedule like a great Stage Manager. We are seeking a true leader with excellent communication skills that can lead a large department into a routine that benefits all.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to:

  • Management of Production Department Personnel:
    • Oversees all full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees.
    • Oversees designers, production staff, independent contractors, and over-hire.
    • Creates weekly schedules for all personnel.
    • Schedules and conducts Performance Planning Meetings (PPMs) with all staff members in accordance with the company schedule.
    • Performs interviews and assists with hiring of future employees for production.
    • Perform interviews and assist with hiring of future Professional Training Program members for production. 
    • Management of all production departments, comprising of the: Production Office and Company Management, Scene Shop, Costume Shop, Electrics Shop, AEA Stage Management and Professional Training Program Members.
  • Management of Yearly Production Department Operations
    • Collaborates on the creation of the 52 Week Operating Calendar and maintains once finalized.
    • Collaborates with Producing Artistic Director on the creation of fiscal year budgets.
    • Creates and maintains the yearly design and production schedules.
  • Management of Day-to-Day Operations of Production Department
    • Creates and Maintains Production Schedules.
    • Maintains Purchase Order Protocols and Budget Maintenance.
    • Serves as the main facilitator of information between production teams and artistic staff.
    • Attends and leads production meetings.
    • Attends and leads weekly production staff meetings.
    • Oversees and maintains the Space Reservation Calendar.
    • Manages and oversees inventories for the production department.
    • Performs daily inspections of all shops, studios, and theatres to ensure safe and orderly conditions.
  • General Duties
    • Attends Department Head Meetings
    • Attends meetings as a representative of the production department.


  • A minimum 5 years of professional Production Management experience within a similarly sized theatre company.
  • Familiarity with union guidelines, including LORT, AEA, AGVA, SSDC & USA.
  • A strong ability to lead and a mission-oriented approach to management.
  • Understanding of lighting and sound equipment, and ability to operate common and occasional specialty theatrical equipment and tools.
  • Thorough understanding of all Microsoft Suite programs including Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, inspire and work well with others.
  • Stage Management experience is a plus.

Salary range: $62,000-$75,000/yr, commensurate with experience

Florida Studio Theatre, a professional LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL is seeking an Assistant Box Office Manager for its 5-theatre complex.
Duties include, but are not limited to
  • Ticket sales
  • Communication and enforcement of ticketing policies
  • Daily analysis of ticket sales
  • Constant communication with other departments
  • Opening and closing the box office
  • Creating and managing holds
  • Reconciling box office receipts
  • Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of box office staff
The right candidate must have excellent communication skills, a positive and outgoing personality and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be prompt, reliable, and detail oriented and have excellent computer skills. 
Must be available to work days, evening, and/or weekends. Minimum of two years management experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of the Tessitura system is preferred. Must be able to work well independently and to manage, train, and motivate others.

Starting salary: $37,000-$40,000/yr

Florida Studio Theatre, a LORT D regional theatre in Sarasota, FL seeks an experienced Associate Director of Marketing.

The Associate Director of Marketing supports the administrative functions/operations of the Marketing Department including, but not limited to: develops show logos and promotional brochures, designs weekly print ads, serves as part of the lead writing team for newsletters, manages social media accounts and groups, creates and sends promotional emails, directs select photoshoots, manages annual playbill ad sales campaign, directs photoshoots, manages Marketing Intern. This position reports to Director of Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:

  • Graphic Design
    • Lead graphic designer for all show logo creation
    • Designs ads for newspapers, magazines, and digital
    • Designs promotional materials including but not limited to brochures
  • Creates and sends promotional eblasts using Constant Contact
  • Manages all social media platforms
  • Contributes new and creative ideas for content marketing
  • Directs select photoshoots for professional productions throughout the year.
  • Ad Sales Campaign
  • Manages annual playbill ad sales campaign with support from Director of Marketing
  • Supports Director of Marketing in management of Marketing team
  • Manages Marketing Intern with support from Director of Marketing
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills:

Florida Studio Theatre, a professional LORT D theatre in Sarasota, FL is currently seeking local scenic painters and wig designers for various upcoming projects.

The scenic painter works with the Technical Director to create scenic painted elements for Productions on all 5 stages. This position is on an “as needed” contract. Pay rate varies depending on scale of project(s) but can range from $17-$25/hr.

The wig designer works with the Costume Shop Manager to fit and style wigs for Mainstage and Stage III series productions. This position is on an “as needed” contract. Pay rate varies depending on scale of project(s) but is paid via stipend in the range of roughly $750-$1500 per show.

Please provide portfolio when applying. Must be available to work on nights and weekends as needed throughout the build/rehearsal processes.



Hiring experienced servers for our dining service. Florida Studio Theatre is a live professional theatre with several restaurants and we serve food before the shows. Looking for fun and energetic people to join our team serving food and drinks before our shows. Servers must be reliable, able to work in a fast paced environment and be available on evenings and weekends.

Salary range: $8/hr + tips

Hiring food runners to expedite food to tables, help clear tables and assist servers with patrons' needs. Great job for after school. Willing to train. Must be reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment and be available on evenings and weekends.

Pay: $11/hr + tips


Hiring part-time dishwashers. We can work around your schedule. Great job for after school or as second job. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be available on evenings and weekends.
