Florida Studio Theatre hosts an array of special events throughout the year in celebration of the season and to honor those that make our art and education possible.

The FST Shindig
Date: Monday, February 25, 2019
Location: Hegner Theatre Wing

The Annual FST Shindig is our largest fundraiser of the season!  This multi-theatre event will feature pre-show cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the presentation of the FST Spelman Award, a one-time only performance featuring favorite FST artists. The evening concludes with a beautifully prepared dinner.
Entertainment and ticket information will be announced soon.

Muriel O'Neil Dedication

Location: Muriel O'Neil Costume Studio and Producing Offices
Time: 5:30-7PM

A celebration of two dedication ceremonies for the Artistic Producing Offices and new Costume Studio, made possible by the Legacy, Muriel O'Neil Fund For The Performing Arts of Community Foundation of Sarasota County. A formal dedication, open house, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, we will honor those who have made a lifetime commitment to FST through planned giving.

Fireside Chats with Richard Hopkins

Location: Bea Friedman Room (Located in the Keating Theatre building)

Intimate discussions with Producing Artistic Director, Richard Hopkins on behind-the-scenes aspects of Florida Studio Theatre's philosophies and artistic process. An opportunity to interact with FST directors, artists, and other art supporters.

FST Forums Discussions
Date: January 7& 28, February 11, March 4, April 15, 2019
Location: Bowne's Lab Theatre
Time: 5:30-6:30PM

Discussions led by Associate Director At Large Kate Alexander and Steering Committee Chair Chief Judge Charles E. Williams. Along with community leaders and special guests, the Forums Project is a city-wide diversity initiative designed to engage Sarasota in critical discussions about race and discrimination, all based on the diverse topics of our shows.

Read-A-Thon
Date: Friday, March 1, 2019
Location: Goldstein Cabaret
Time: 11:30AM - 1:00PM

An afternoon of community service for FST's Write A Play program. Help us read plays from over 3,000 of our young playwrights. The annual Read-A-Thon event will take place in the Goldstein Cabaret with refreshments, short scripts, laughter, and tears. We need your help to decide the winning plays for the Young Playwrights Festival in May.

The FST Spring Ovation Luncheon
