The ‘70s: More Than A Decade

 

Get ready to get your groove on—we’re celebrating all things ‘70s, baby! With music made famous by The Who, Carole King, The Bee Gees, Marvin Gaye, and more, this dynamic new Cabaret traces a pivotal decade and some of the greatest music ever recorded. From the war in Vietnam to the rise of disco, this energetic Cabaret celebrates the musical hit parade that was the 1970s. Featuring such songs as “Joy to the World,” “Let It Be,” “Stayin’ Alive,” and more.

The ‘70s: More Than A Decade, By Rebecca Hopkins, Richard Hopkins, and Sarah Durham with Musical Arrangements by Jim Prosser, played October 5, 2022 - February 12, 2023 in FST's John C. Court Cabaret. Due to popular demand, The '70s: More Than A Decade will play in FST's Keating Theatre for a limited return engagement March 8-26, 2023.

Run Time: 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.

BRIANNA BARNES | Brianna's album, Hierophanies: Manifestations of the Sacred, made the first round on the Grammy Awards ballot and can be found on all streaming platforms. She is the Composer/Lyricist of Let There Be Light (Best Musical/Best Score, NY Theatre Festival); Rathskeller (Best Musical - BroadwayWorld’s Off-Off Broadway Awards); and Walking With Bubbles. She recently played Lucy in the national tour of A Charlie Brown Christmas and has performed at Theatre Aspen, John W. Engeman Theater, and The Wick. brianna-barnes.com

STEVEN GRANT DOUGLAS s delighted to be making his FST debut alongside this groovy cast & crew! Previous Broadway National Tours include dancing to the disco as Bruce Sudano in SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical and sculpting pottery from beyond the grave as Sam Wheat in Ghost The Musical. He's also starred regionally in Once (Guy), All Shook Up (Chad), Cabaret (Cliff), and Rattlesnake Kate (Jack Slaughterback). Steven grew up 'listening to the music' and proudly holds a B.F.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth. @stevengdouglas

JANNIE JONES revived the role she co-created in Ethel Waters at FST in 2019. Broadway/Off-Broadway/1st National Tours: The Full Monty (U/S Georgie), Hair (Dionne), Mama I Want to Sing (Sis. Carrie), and Faith Journey (Traci). Regional Theatre: Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story “Marlena” (Tuacahn & FST), Caroline in Caroline or Change (WBTT), Lena Younger in Raisin (WBTT), Guitar Girls (FST), Blue Suede Shoes (FST), and Gathering Blue, where she created the role of Annabella (Mt. Gretna Theatre). TV: The Get Down (Cool Herc’s Mom). She has also performed at Carnegie Hall.

EDDIE WEAVER | This is Eddie’s second year at FST! Eddie recently completed FST’s Acting Apprenticeship Training Program. He participated in over six productions, ranging from Cinderella to The Wanderers. He studied performance at Columbus State University, where he earned his BA in Theatre. Favorite credits include: The Wiz (Lion), Once On This Island (Agwe), and Detroit 67 (Sly). Eddie is thrilled to be back at FST, and to be working with such a wonderful cast.
