teaches students to explore the human condition;
to explore the uncreated conscience of the race.

Florida Studio Theatre's Education Program
is celebrating its twenty-third year of outstanding programming. From the
modest beginnings of 11 students in 1982, the program now reaches thousands
of students across the region through innovative classes, workshops, tours
and other activities.
Our professional theatre workshops offer
children an original training method developed from two decades of
experience.
Our professional workshops offer adults a
creative forum to explore their human and artistic potential.
FST's Outreach and visiting professionals
teach over 2,000 adults and children in small classes in six cities each
year. Workshops are held in Sarasota, Bradenton, Laurel Nokomis, Ft.
Myers and Fort Lauderdale.
Workshops and Classes:
- 33 classes per week in Acting for Children and Adults
- 8 classes per week in Dance and Movement
- 5 classes per week in Music, including Musical Theatre
- 3 classes per week in Playwriting
- Multiple Summer Theatre Camps
- Scholarships for Minority Students
- Scholarships for financially disadvantaged students
- Outreach programs

In addition to those offered at the
theatre, workshops and classes have been presented in cooperation with other
organizations across the country including: The Children's Museum of
Manhattan, The Sarasota County Library System, The Brooklyn Children's
Museum, The YMCA of Sarasota, The American Museum of Natural History, The
Woman's Resource Center, The Boys and Girls Club, 92 Street Y and the
Lincoln Center Library.
