Beginning Acting - Monologue 101 (8 weeks)
Beginning Acting-Monologue introduces the adult student to the Florida Studio Theatre Education program. This course focuses on the development of truth on stage. A concentration in monologue allows the student to gain an appreciation for the theatre by facing a role personally.

Scene Structure (8 weeks)
The dynamics of building a scene is the focus of this sequel to Acting 101. Students will learn how to score a script with actions, intentions and objectives utilizing a play from the contemporary theatre.

Scene Study (8 weeks)
This is a scene study class for actors with experience that focuses on active, moment-to-moment work in excerpts from contemporary plays. Continuing to explore the themes of intention and objective, students work in pairs and are guided through the scenes as in a rehearsal process.

Dance (8 weeks)
High energy. Move to world rhythms as you enhance flexibility, stamina and endurance. Fun and funky. No dance experience necessary.

Beginning Playwriting (8 weeks)
The class will discuss the structure of a new play, the language of theatre, resources available to playwrights for development and production, theatre etiquette, writing in the language of theatre, development of character and dialogue, rewriting, and the soul of playwriting.

Advanced Playwriting (8 weeks)
For the experienced playwright or writer, interested in taking their script from the written page to performance. Discussions on play process, promotion and production will be explored.

Professional Improv classes are taught under the direction of FST’s Managing Director, Rebecca Langford. Ms. Langford has 16 years of Improv experience and developed FST’s Improvisation program in 2000.
This session's classes will be taught by Rachel Oakes. Rachel has studied in New York at The Upright Citizen's Brigade and is a Graduate of New Actor's Workshop. After graduation, she worked with many improv troupes around New York, but was mostly seen with her main groups, Present Elevation and God Freedom Fantastic.
Beginning Improvisation (8 weeks) 
Discover the freedom of spontaneity. Beginning Improvisation is the launching ground to start developing one’s skills as an Improv performer. Learn the fundamentals of Comedy Improvisation using theatre games and scenes. Students are given the opportunity to explore creativity, hone presentation skills, and build self-confidence through teamwork. This class is designed for those who have no previous Improv knowledge and who have not taken classes with FST Improv before.

Improvisation (8 weeks)
Students are placed into an ensemble and continue to build upon the fundamentals of Improvisation while advancing scenic and character skills. Students will discover their strengths while exploring different forms and styles of Improvisation. This class is intended for those who have an immediate working knowledge of the rules and styles adhered to by FST Improv. Admission into this class is by instructor recommendation only.

Improv for Seniors (8 weeks)
This class, designed specifically for the senior community, teaches the fundamentals of improvisation while exploring character development and scene structure. Using improvisation techniques through various theatre games and scenes, students will learn basic theatrical and improvisational skills while building confidence through ensemble work. This class is perfect for those who are looking to expand themselves artistically and is a great introduction to improvisation and performance in general.
