2012 SUMMER EDUCATION POSITIONS - Posted on 1/11/12

Florida Studio Theatre has the following staff positions available in the upcoming 2012 Summer Performing Arts Camp:

Little Theatre Instructor – must be experienced in managing large groups of very small children (ages 5-6).  This instructor will work with an intern assistant.

Acting Instructorexperienced acting instructor for youth (ages 7-12) and teens.  Responsible to communicate acting technique to students and coach pieces for the final performances.

FST also has the following intern positions open for the Camp:

Company Management Intern – responsible for the daily set-up of each camp, supervision of the deck during pre-care and lunch, camp close-out and some light stage management.

Teaching Artist Interns – assist Master Teachers with acting classes and general camp support as needed.

Associate Artist - Posted on 2/2/12

Florida Studio Theatre, a LORT D regional theatre with three stages in Sarasota, FL is expanding its staff.  A major renovation and construction project is under way that will completely revamp one theatre and add two new stages.  To that end, FST is seeking an Associate Artist.  This position will be responsible for New Play Development, building and maintaining relationships with playwrights, literary agents and other artists, work as part of the FST New Play Development team, read and evaluate plays, dramaturgical support throughout all departments of the Theatre and research.  The Associate Artist may have directing and teaching duties as well , depending on the strengths and talents of the individual.  The position supervises a team of four Literary nterns.  Strong writing, computer and management skills are a must.  The right applicant is authentic, emotionally resilient, passionate about theatre, responsible, a team player, flexible and confident.  Please email resume with references and cover letter to: James Ashford, Casting & Hiring Coordinator.  EMAIL – jashford@floridastudiotheatre.org.


Director of Communications - Posted on 2/2/12

Florida Studio Theatre, a professional LORT D theatre in Sarasota, FL, is seeking candidates for the newly created Director of Communications to oversee the daily activities of the Marketing and Development departments.  FST is positioned to experience major growth in the next few years.  This position will be key as the theatre prepares to expand programming and facilities.  Candidates must have excellent communication and team leadership skills, a solid grasp of arts marketing concepts, and possess demonstrated fundraising abilities.  Management experience is required, including experience supervising staff, managing budgets, and meeting financial goals. Development Manager - Posted on 2/2/12
