Cast and Creative Team

Rebecca Langford Rebecca Langford (Show Concept and Development) has been part of the development team for FST’s Cabaret Theatre since her arrival in Sarasota in 1998. Shows she has helped develop include: Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits, Brassy Broads, Hot and Cole, My One and Only Gershwin, GI Jive, Three Friends, Two Guitars and a Broken Tambourine, Piano Men and The Flip Side. She was the Director of Development for Laughing Matters...Too, A Vaudeville Cabaret and the original Laughing Matters. Ms. Langford serves as Managing Director for Florida Studio Theatre. In this capacity she acts as a liaison between the administration office and the artistic, education, and production offices. In addition, Ms. Langford has 16 years of Improv experience and created FST’s Improv program. Prior to her arrival at Florida Studio Theatre she worked as a theatre artist in Austin, Texas at the Austin Shakespeare Festival, in the box office for the Zachary Scott Theatre, and held the position of Audience Development Coordinator for the Largo Cultural Center in Florida. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia where she attended Georgia State University and began her career in theatre as an actress.

Richard HopkinsRichard Hopkins (Show Development/Director) Artistic Director of Florida Studio Theatre since 1980, Richard Hopkins has guided the company from a small touring group to a professional regional theatre.  Mr. Hopkins began his professional theatre career as a resident actor with Asolo State Theatre in Sarasota, Florida.  In 1974 he founded the Palisades Theatre Company in Washington, DC, which subsequently moved to St. Petersburg to become American Stage.  He served as its Producing Director from 1974-1980.  Additional experiences include: President of the Florida Professional Theatres Association (1983-1985), Panelist for Theatre Program of Florida Arts Council, and Director/Instructor for Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus’ Clown College (1981).  His many directing credits include:  Metamorphoses, The Bully Pulpit, God’s Man in Texas, Hysteria, Gross Indecency:  The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, 2: Goering at Nuremberg, Six Degrees of Separation, Execution of Justice, Death by Misadventure, Hi-Hat-Hattie, Invictus, Agnes of God, Beyond Therapy, True West, La Ronde, and Betrayal and numerous other plays and Cabaret projects including Sophie Tucker, Inspired Lunacy, and Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits, Over the Rainbow.

Cristin Kelly (Show Development) is the Literary Manager at FST. She has a BFA in Theatre Management from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA and an MFA in Dramaturgy/Theatre Criticism from Brooklyn College. As a student, she worked with the Alliance Theatre and Horizon Theatre in Atlanta and Off-Broadway at Manhattan Class Company. She is a member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. Her career at FST began with an internship in the Literary department and she has also worked as Assistant to the Artistic Director. She has been on the development teams of many Cabaret shows, including Brassy Broads, My One and Only Gershwin, Guitar Girls, and Three Friends, Two Guitars (and a Broken Tambourine).

Erica AubreyErica Aubrey FST debut!  Erica was raised in Murray, KY on the music of outlaws and angels.  She has performed country music on the stage of the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN as Tammy in Stand by your man: The Tammy Wynette Story.   In New York she recently performed in Museum Pieces at the Prospect Theatre Company.  Favorite roles include:  Hope in Anything Goes, Lizzie in Baby, and Sally in Parade.  Undergrad:  Belmont University, Graduate:  NYU.

Alex BrumelAlex Brumel Alex is making his FST debut, having recently graduated from the University of Michigan, where his favorite role was that of the title character in The Who’s Tommy. His NYC theatrical credits include the 2001 and 2004 Roundabout/Lincoln Center productions of Spring Awakening. Alex is also a singer/songwriter whose work can be heard on his 2006 self-titled debut, and on 2007’s The Mill Stone EP. Dominick CiccoDominick Cicco  has sung and played guitar in a variety of venues.  In Musical Theatre, his favorite roles are Sweeney Todd and Emile DeBecque. In Opera: Marcello and Escamillo. On TV, he has acted in shows such as HBO's "The Wire" and CBS's "Hack". In feature film, he played opposite Mark Wahlberg in a scene from  Invincible. Recently, Dominick was seen on the Superbowl in a National Commercial for Coke. This is his FST debut.

 

Michael HicksMichael Hicks returns to FST after music directing Laughing Matters Too and Altar Boyz last year.  Michael has spent 12 seasons with The Weston Playhouse where his roles include Ethan (The Full Monty), Jewell (Floyd Collins), and Manny (Master Class).  Other credits include L.M. (Pump Boys and Dinettes) at The Swine Palace, Mervin (Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming) at CFRT, and Pete Gavin (Show Boat) at The Depot Theatre.  Michael teaches at NYU’s CAP 21 Conservatory.
